The Physical Planning and Maintenance Directorate (PPMD) of the University is headed by a Deputy Director/Ag. Director Architect Akinpelumi F.O. (M. Tech., M. Phil., MNIA, MNIOB, ARCON) who reports to the Vice Chancellor on the day to day activities of the directorate and carry out duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor in addition to servicing other committees as appropriate. He is ably supported by the following key professionals.

AREAS OF OPERATION
The Directorate (PPMD) is saddled with the following responsibilities amongst others:
- Preparation of brief for new projects as directed by Vice Chancellor
- Coordination of activities of Consultants up to tender opening stage.
- Coordination of activities of Contractors on on –going projects (Post Contract)
- Supervision of construction of all capital projects within the University Campuses
- Landscaping and Beautification of the University Campuses.
- Maintenance of Buildings, Roads, Generators, Vehicles and other services within the University Campuses
- Allocation of space for offices and other uses within the University.
- Custodian of University Master plan and advising on Developmental matters.
- Exercising Developmental control as directed by Vice Chancellor/Management
- Managers of University Estate (if available)
- Providing Data for MDA as need arises.
- Active participation in NEEDS Assessment and Tetfund matters
- Any other Duty/duties as assigned by the VC.

BRIEF/LIST OF FUNCTIONS OF THE UNIT
Responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for:
• Provision of legal advice on matters referred to the legal Unit;
• Drafting of legal documents;
• Liaison with University Solicitor on behalf of the University;
• Other Ad-hoc duties as directed by the Vice-Chancellor or Registrar from time to time;
• Representing the University in the Law Courts;
• Secretary to all the University’s Companies and business enterprises registered with the Corporate affairs Commission.
• Membership/attendance of Statutory Committees
• Oath administration
