The centre is headed by a seasoned academic, Prof. S. Fakoya, a food Microbiologist, Mycologist and an expert in Mushroom Cultivation Technology.
OAUSTECH Centre for Research and Development (CRD) was established to facilitate and supports interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research across OAUSTECH devoted to leveraging on knowledge from Science, Agriculture and Engineering Technology. It is therefore a depository for research ingenuities, concepts and information on all forms of research outcomes.
CRD as a Centre with one of its mandates to link with relevant industries’ stakeholders locally and internationally for research and development strides and for commercialization of the University’s research outputs as a source of IGR for the University.
The centre is also to provide leadership in the development of activities capable of proffering solutions to problems in a variety of disciplines, using the University’s rich array of seasoned academics with professional qualifications in several disciplines within the University community. The Centre also welcomes patronage from private individuals and industry for effective partnership.

To be recognized as the leading research-based institution in Nigeria and also to be enlisted among the foremost research and development centres in the world where ideas and ingenuities are being transformed into outputs capable of revolusionalising the research world.
Mission
Grooming University’s researchers (academics) for human capacity building and leadership position in diverse fields of endeavours through imbibing systematic grantmanship both national and international and research activities with visible implementations.
Activities
1. The maiden seminar presentation tagged “WRITING OF GOOD RESEARCH PROPOSAL” was held on the 30th of March, 2021 by inviting a resource person, Prof. G. Oboh (Director, Centre for Research and Development, FUTA) as the guest speaker. The event featured talks on Institution Based Research (IBR) and National Research Fund (NRF) and it was well attended by academic staff and technologists of the University.
2. CELEBRATION OF FACULTY SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS IN OAUSTECH (2021 - 2022) - A concept by a visionary leader, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi. E. Ologunorisa to celebrate excellence, encourage hard works, promote dedications and rebounce commitments of academics in the University. Also, to project the image of the university and bring it into the lime light among the comity of universities across the globe. Therefore, it is a compilation of academics by the Centre for Research and Development, OAUSTECH in order to showcase their qualitative researches in divers fields of endeavour for global visibility and assessment to facilitate collaborations and partnerships.
