The team defeated the Mathematical Science team 1-0 in a closely contested match.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Foluso Adetuyi, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, urged the Mathematical Science team to accept defeat graciously and maintain unity among themselves as a display of sportsmanship.

He commended both teams for their exceptional football skills.

The School of Science's female team clinched the female trophy after beating the School of Engineering 1-0.

The School of Management was rated the team of the year.

The University's Sports Director, Mr. Tayo Adeoye, appealed for increased funding to support sporting activities in the university.

Adeoye also requested a 500-seater pavilion to accommodate the student population and spectators, ensuring a comfortable experience during sports events.

The Vice-Chancellor's Sporting Competitions aim to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among students.

The event was well-organized, with medal awards presented to winners of various sporting activities by top university officials
